5 and six spring clutches

The six spring ones are larger in outer diameter for sure. It really takes a 1987-1988 clutch cover to use the 6 spring assembly.

Does anyone know if either the 5 or the spring plates swap with any brand x?

Fibers , steels or both ? Newer maico clutch basket real close to 81 430 . Can compare next weekend .

No, the 6 spring clutch is bigger.

its a good thing, as its a nice upgrade and can be retro fitted to the older transmissions.

i put a six spring in an 85 and just had to do some shimming

ol mate has sorted his stuffed gear on the clutch basket but has two sets of plates and i was in need of plates but I have the 5 spring so game over...

That's a shame, I have never worn out a set of clutch plates so I guess they will go in the spares tub for this bike.....

yup, these bikes dont exactly need the clutch feathered for wheelies!
