    Okay, first the good news. spent some gas riding dirt today, first time since April 06, had a blast riding through small mud pit's & fast (4 me) loose gravel, hill climbs & descents, single track, double track, & wide track :) . Many of the things I was afraid of before today, were much easier & natural for me than I expected. No falls, took it easy, thought the suspension was great :devil:
    I'm happy.:banana::banana::D:cheers:

    Only problem, besides riding like a total noob was low speed flameout. To the point where I killed the battery & had to kick start it. Thank God it's easy to kick, I honestly thought there was no way I was ready to kick the Big Bad Wolf. But it started right up & that was the end of my dirt riding day. :banghead:

    I know I'm geared too tall. 15\48 + a TerrorFlex. I'll jack up idle from 1500 to 17 or 1800 for my next dirt trip.

    Even though there were frequent flameouts, there was enough time between them that I didn't think I'd run down the battery, but I did.
    After kicking it to life, riding straight to my riding partners truck & having a smoke, the E-start started it right up. :thumbsup:

    So would it be considered a heat soak problem, or a battery problem?
    P.S. it's the original 06 battery & has been flawless.

    P.S.S. I'm so damn happy to have ridden in the dirt again after so long
    :banana::banana::ride::cheers:

    P.S.S.S. That Terrorflex is not lacking in traction, anywhere!!. Near the end of my riding I intentionally tried to spin that beast in axle deep clay based mud pit's & it just takes off like a rocket. me likey :D:D

    Ya. We're pretty lucky to have that magic button.:busted:

    Don't waste your time Dan just go get a new battery.

    Hey Bro... glad you're riding again.

    That is awesome!!! :applause:

    Been a long time since you have ridden and I'm glad you are now healthy enough to do that :thumbsup:

    The idle speed is specified somewhere in the owners manual to be more like 1800 rpms, my 2006 TE250 does not run well at all in the 1650 rpms and below range. I would definitely set the idle speed higher. That is quite probably why your bike was stalling.

    Since the estart worked after riding back to the truck your charging system is working fine. But... your battery, like mine, is getting time to be replaced. It is still almost good enough.

    I'm thinking about this one

    Thanks guys :thumbsup:
    It's a great feeling & rethinking what I said, the 200 yards I rode in 06 shouldn't really count :lol: more like my first dirt ride since 1983. I'll look into a new battery soon, after my laid up time, worked just over a month & got laid off. Luckily I got called yesterday to come back Monday night, so as funds build up again, I can get some more Husky goodies.

    I know this is absolutely trivial, but it's been so long, washing the bike took forever to get mud out of all the nooks & crannies, I can't remember the last time I spent cleaning up thick clay & mud with a smile on my face.
    Husky Eastern get together just got a whole lot brighter for me. Can't wait. :D :cheers:

    You're going to the NE gathering!!! :thumbsup:

    It is really really good to know that you rode, you and I have been discussing medical issues for years now.

    Thanks Dean, yeah it's been a long time coming, funny Monday after the Husky get together I see my doctor to find out if my legs completely healed.

    How is your leg??? is it completely healed?? I haven't heard anything about your leg in a while so I'm assuming you're back to good health. Hope that's the case

    Cheers buddy :cheers:

    15/48 is pretty dang tall, but I'm sure there are guys running 16/something.

    I used to run 13/50 but did very little open stuff, mostly singletrack. Still, no one was going to catch me in the short open field sections......:D
