found a full arrow system for good money online but noticed it doesn't come with a heat shield like the LV pipes. are they planning you use the stock shields? really don't wanna put those back on and i'm not too keen on using heat wrap as heard it can shag the pipes.

would i be able to get away without using one or is it just gonna melt my boots? getting some white (!?) alpinestars tech 7s so don't wanna bugger them!

    cheers :)

no. i will block the o2 sensor with a plug i got from ebay. then see how it runs. will get a power commander if it needs it but trying to do it as cheap as possible!

You will need the resistor to replace the lambda sensor plug in the harness or you will get an error. If I were you I would get the JD Jetting tuner instead of the PC. Cheaper, easier to tune, and actually designed for use on thumpers.

There are dozens of members on here with the JD tuner, myself included. Made a huge difference in response, rideability and smoothness once I found what works for my setup with an open airbox and opened mufflers.

excellent cheers for that fella. will look in to it. did you get your bike dyno'd or just adjust via how the bike felt?

Butt-dyno. I'll get it on a roller sooner or later once I've settled on any changes, but it's very smooth and responsive right now, no surging or chugging. There's a thread on here with members' personal settings and the mods they have made.

All the JD does is add or subtract fuel in different ranges, and adjust the respective width of each range.

The red/blue setting has the most effect on throttle response. The green and green/blue have the most affect on low end and cruising.
Yellow is mid-range and red is high end.

Heat shields are necessary unless you want to melt your boots and have ventilated clothes. Here is a picture of my solution to heat shields, and can work on any pipe. It is a shield off a Honda crf250, and works quite well since you can position anywhere on the pipe.
