I am going to check my cam chain tensioner and make sure all the gears under the right hand engine cover are tight so I don't sheer a woodruff key. I heard how easy it is to check the cam chain tension, but I don't want to end up like I did after trying to adjust my front fork's compression. From what it looks like, all you have to do is remove the center larger bolt, then the two smaller bolts and pull it out. Is there anything else I need to make sure of? Engine cold, etc? The clutch basket also looks like it is in the way of the nuts I need to check under the RH engine case. Can I remove this by taking out the 6 bolts on the outside of the clutch? I assume I will have to torque the clutch back to a very specific figure, anyone know what it is? I appreciate any help.
No bites on the sale I take it? Last week I could have shown you all that stuff as I had it all apart but just buttoned it back up. Next week is looking a bit busy, but after that if you want to bring it by the DAG after halloween we can throw it on a lift and check everything out in a couple of hours one evening. Feeling any vibes or is it all preventative? I was getting a little bit, turned out to be the upper engine mount but I checked the woodruff keys anyway.
I was just being cautious- Don't want to be 1000 miles from home and break something. If you do know someone who is interested in the bike...
