    For reference please.
    Mine (1999 TE610) is set with OEM jetting at @1.5 turns on the mix screw, needle in clip #2 (from top), UpTite pipe with Procircuit S/A dB quiet cap installed.
    OEM Jetting is MJ175,PJ62,SJ60, N K32 pos#2. Note TE does not have Accelerator pump like the TC model does.
    From UpTite 180-185 Main and 60P, but I have stuffed up the pipe with the end cap installed, so I stayed in OEM config. My idle is set a little fast, that is the way I set it to keep stalling down. Also she starts great cold 1 or 2 kicks with enrichment valve, then after she fires, a little gas and click off enrichment and she goes into idle. Right now its my lower mid that is problem (needle position it appears) Thanks Rob

    OEM jetting is installed, OEM pipe is installed, cold start is perfect, hot start is a pain.

    Data point only. On a hopped up '99 410(head work)
    main 175, stock starting jet and 45 idle. Accelerator pump removed and a slight bore on the carb. Needle is on #2. Never starts with the choke, just pops.... But starts well cold anyways w/o. Hard starter if you drop it or you have a flame out. Basically you get one try if its warm or else your clearing it with 7 or so kicks and starting over. Factory duals for exhaust with one pipe slightly opened up. Runs fast on top,has a stong bottom end too. Flames out if you get greedy with the throttle application on the bottom.

    nope about the hot start issue, I got that dialed now too, it was technique issue, so 1999 TE610 OEM jetting with stock pipe(s), start cold or hot easy. Make sure you guys have your float level set right.

    I have a 2000 TE610e. It has the pumper dellorto PHM40 carb.
    Set Up:
    Slide 50/3
    Atomizer AB266
    Main Jet 175
    Idel jet 62
    Accel jet 30
    Choke jet 50
    Needle K32
    Needle set #3
    Pre emmisions idel screw at 1 1/8 out
    This set up has all but emlinated the 3000 to 3500 rpm surg/miss.
    I need the choke for just the start then its off and the engine idels pretty till warmed up then idel is very smooth. Hot start, just hit the button, without any throttle. I get my carb parts here; http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?cPath=62I

    Hi.. I have just acquired a 1999 TE610 in premium condition... It seems to go o.k. The only big issues i have is starting and kick starter not engauging all the way making it hard to get a full swing on the leg... Idle fluctuates a tad but not a big problem... I'm in OZ. So if any of you guys have tuning advice, I would love to hear it.. Will post a pic of it

    For DellOrto TE610 setting: PJ 65 is better than 60 or 62. Needle in Pos. 3 is also better when having TC or other MX pipe installed. Getting tuned an acc. pump for the TE engine is a PITA...seams it work only well on 410, 510 or TC engines.

    Mines standard I think.
    Jet sizes:
    Main= 180
    Idle = 50
    Start= 50
    Atomiser= ab 260
    Venturi valve= 300
    Needle= k32
    Air/fuel mix =1.5 turns

    Jumpy and jerky when trying to hold a steady speed with little throttle, dies out when coming to a stop at road ends and after full throttle. Anyone see anything I should change?

    I played about with the air fuel mix and have it at 2.25 turns and it no longer dies out when coming to a stop and seems easier started (not as much choke needed) still jerky and jumpy when trying to hold a steady speed

    With my carb, it was flogged out in the slide and idle was fluctuating. Got a new dellorto from italy complete with jetting specs. All jetting was std from manual. ? One down on the clip. The biggest gain for me was plug gap, valve tolerance and idle setting and mixture adjustment.. The TE loves a high idle. It stops the "sticky off the bottom throttle" issues..

    Hi..
    Experiencing some "problems" with my TE 610 -93, hot and cold start is perfect..
    Always starts on first or second kick..
    However, giving throttle without gear its reving like it should..
    But when I'm riding the bike and give full throttle fast the bike bogging and almost dies..

    I Think the Main is 165 and Idle is 62, stock pipe as far I know..
    Mixture 1.5-2 turns out.. Needle set at #2 from above..

    Never had a bike without a pumper carb before, am I supposed to expect it to behave like this?

    If I give mine full throttle 1st 2nd 3rd etc up to about 80 it does that as if it is starved of fuel. I think it is just emptying the float bowl quicker than it can fill. I could be wrong but that's just my thoughts.

    Okey..
    Gonna take a look at the spark plug tomorrow..
    Sometimes it backfires a little, so the mixture is probably a bit too lean..

    So, the spark plug was very black, but dry..
    The screw was 2 turns out..
    Set it at 1.5 now, gonna take it for a ride later today, think the pipe is leaking a bit and thats why it backfires..

    Does the silencer have a baffle installed when stock? Mine doesnt..
