I am looking at a 99 TE 610 to turn into a light adventure bike. My question is, how many configurations of the 610 have there been since 99 (other than the FI)? And will aftermarket parts fit most models prior to 2007?

The major drawback to using a pre-06 TE610 as an adventure bike is it's gas tank capacity. I know that IMS, Clark, Safari and Acerbis do not make a tank for it. 2.4 gallons just doesn't go very far.

Thanks, that is kind of a deal killer.

It gives it about 100 miles or so of range. So if you plan carefully or carry an extra gallon or two of gas... But it's not an adventure bike. It lacks the range as well as carrying capacity. Later models can get considerably more range, but they still suffer from inadequate carrying capacity. Not that it stops many from doing adventure riding on them anyways...
