I'm sure it's not a direct bolt in if that's what you're asking. But with enough skill, tools and money you can make anything fit.
hey Trav tks.. of course... i was assuming if not bolt for bolt then space for space! Now shall i fit that in-line 4 :-)
When I had my motor out for trans work, I was eyeing the GSX-R motor sitting on my shop floor about 10ft away...
Dunno about back to 1998, but the bottom end of the 630 motor, ie below the cylinder, is the same as that of the 610. It is the bottom end that mounts up to the frame so you should be in luck so as long as the 2009 610 motor dates back to 1998
On the 630, only the swingarm pin and one bolt go through the case and frame. The others go through some adapter plates up front, which would be easy enough to fab up to fit whatever it's going in.
Have not studied the 610 mill, but could be more than that: Twin cam cylinder head, timing chain differences into the bottom end ? , ECU, EFI ? Etc etc.
Main issues will be piston to head clearance (rod length), upper rod bushing size, cam chain size, and either setting up EFI (Husky OE or MicroSquirt) or making (?) a manifold for a carburetor.
