Does anyone have any experience with the operation of the 630 auto decompression? What activaties it? rpm? How does it de-activate? Is it spring related? centrifugal force? It appears that when activated the right side exhaust valve is held open longer duration to alleviate compression and facilitate starting. My friend's TE630, after 4K miles, seems to be having issues with the auto decomp activating correctly. We removed the valve cover, however without removing the exhaust cam and circlip that holds the auto decomp we were unable to really understand the mechanics of it. Mine also seemed to stick in "activated mode" for longer than necessary in colder mountain climates.
