Hello everyone, Can you post what part number is on your ECU? I think my 2011 SMS 630 computer is bad and I'm trying to find a replacement. Websites show many different part numbers. Mine, however, seems to be the wrong part number. It is 8000B0564, but I'm coming up with an ECU from a 2008 450/510 with that number. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance!
Can anybody help me out with ECU numbers? Also, I have been trying to find someone locally and on facebook groups to test out my ECU, but have not had any luck. Anybody willing to test my ECU if I pay for shipping?
As far as I know, the only engine and control difference is a slightly lower 6th gear in SM. SWM use the SM gear ratios in their Superduals.
If you put two photos of your ECU, one in front and one behind, it is possible to trace the model you installed based on the spare part code
Thank you for the pictures and responses. Here is a picture of the front and back of my ecu. There is nothing on the back
someone has removed the references to understand what type of control unit you have. the main difference is that the mappings are different between SM and TE. furthermore, in the factory there are other basic differences set for the control of polluting emissions. do you have an Ibeat available to enter the control unit and check the parameters?
someone has changed the factory data by deleting them and you probably have a "racing" ECU that can give problems. does the bike work well? we are waiting for someone to put in his SM630 data
Why would someone delete that data and what is a "racing" ecu? The bike doesnt currently run, but your info may have turned my direction as to why. I thought the eeprom chip was bad because it's not reading and I have a code, 4080, for eeprom read error, but if someone deleted those, then that may not be my problem. Long story short, I got the bike not running because the throttle body boot blew off from a huge backfire. Ever since I got the bike, the neutral light was blinking, but I didn't mind because it ran fine with the TB boot back on. I rode it for a couple of months. The only issue I had was if I shut the bike off after being up to temperature, say to get fuel, it wouldn't idle without throttle until riding again. One day after stopping, I could not get it started. I couldn't hear the fuel pump and it had power at the connector, so I put a new pump and filter in. Pump is running, it starts fine, then seems like it runs out of fuel or something after 10-15 seconds. I can keep it running indefinitely by constantly blipping the throttle, but if I hold the throttle, it still dies. I got iBeat and found the eeprom read error, but if it's what you're saying, that was probably there the whole time. It's doing the exact thing my RC8R did when I didn't have the map sensor hooked up. The MAQS seems fine, and it reads pressure and temp on ibeat. I also ran the recalibration on iBeat. How can I tell if the sensor is bad? How do I check the fuel pressure when running? Any help is appreciated!
So if you want to reconfigure the bike as in the factory you should get a suitable ECU ...... I seem to remember that Dynobob had a ECU suitable for a SM630 "USA" model.
