    I know the 76 had an 18" rear. Not sure about the 77. Either way, you are onto a winner. The choice of 17" rears is limited (mainly crap). Having an 18" will improve your tyre choices no end.

    77 had 18" rear with green label akront plain ally rim and the narrow 76 style hub...all husky models around that era used 2 year production runs when most but of course not all were similar... 77/78 79/80 81/82 83/84 .

    Thanks for a reply it is the correct wheel just can't wait to get it started but spare money is an issue ATM a I've got 2 other. Bikes to maintain and ride lol can't have it all

    I would happily recommend the Michelin S12. Had a ball on the CCM Sunday at the Dorset Classic meet. It was mud city and didn't stop raining all day. Plenty of grip .... always. It also seems to ride hardpack well too.
    Good luck with the bike. It's about time you posted some pics.
