81 430XC front wheel/axle questions

So having read a bunch of PDF manuals I still am a little confused.

What is the right way to remove and re-install my axle? What is left and right pinch bolts as stated in the manuals? Sitting on the bike or standing in front looking at the bike?

I know.......I am an idiot but I grow on you......maybe.

Only stupid question is the one "Why didn't I just ask"? Left/right is always sitting on-in the seat whether it be a bike or auto. Leave pinch bolts tight on side that has the nut on it- or you really dont have to but then you have to recenter the wheel upon ressembly. Tube probably wont move anyway on its own. loosen pinch bolts on side opposite of nut. Take brake stay off and rotate brake to remove brake cable. Put phillips screwdriver in axle hole and slide it out. I always put a little antisieze on axle upon reassembly. hope this helps and its really late for me so I hope I steered you correctly. Always recheck fasteners after a short ride. Scott
