81 cr 250 17 inch wheel

    I have a 17 inch back wheel on my 81 250 and as we know its hard to find a good 17 inch tire. I got a 18 inch off a 85 or 86 husky and its a little different. It looks like I can take the wheel bearings and spacer and use my backing plate off the 81 and put it in the 85 wheel. Has anybody did this before I go to all that.

    Sorry I can't answer Your Question. I have both a 430 and a 250 XC's 1982 and I exspected them to have a 17" Rear Wheel but they both have the 18. Dose anybody know when the change happened? Do all 81's have 17's and all 82's have 18's?

    Husky didn't change to 18" rear wheel til 1983.
