    Ok guys,
As most of you read i recently picked up 2 1982 250WR enduro's, but had to sell them
not long afterwise due to an unexpected bill. Well this week, i couldn't pass up on a 1983
250CR , i picked up dirt cheap & was told it runs.

This Bike i plan on race/restoring, as i've found find the later model CR 's are harder to find,
then others for some reason & i've been looking for one for years.

What i find interesting about this bike , is the very high serial # 7245, also one would think
some changed out the body work for the next years (84) . But because the rest of the bike
is so original ( i got the original owner manuals & it still has it kick stand!), i'm inclined to think
it came that way from the dealer. I have to find it, but i remember a Husky ad, stating they
in 84 ,were discounting the left over 83 's with up graded 84 body work.

Anyway it was used as a trail bike & is surprising all original & even had a Husky headlight & tail
    light .

I haven't done a bike resto in a year (510 4 stroke was 2011), so looks like i've added another
    keeper for the Husky Herd.

    Looks nice John,

. I just stripped the frames from the 84 250WR and 86 400WR down to bare metal today. Used Rust-Oleum Aircraft stripper, worked very fast .Nice rainy day project in the barn taking a break from the body panel fab for the truck

I was watching that bike and wondered about the bodywork myself. I'm glad someone who will restore it got it and for a good price I might add. :)

Yes the bike has 84 plastic on it, but because of all that's involved in changing, going from 83 to 84 (Seat, side panels,
tank, under gas tank grommets) i believe it was sold that way from the dealer. The Bike is very original & even has the
Husky shop's decals on the side panels. I got an original owners manual & as a bonus folded up inside where brand new Husky Products decals for the tank. Also find it unusual that the side stand still on it. Started pulling it apart this weekend to
clean out all the Southwick sand that gets into everything LOL

    Ok guys,
Pulled the bike apart partly to clean it real good & to have an idea of any repairs needed. Pulled the head off & it's amazing it still has the
original bore piston. Feels like it has decent compression & i should have it running tomorrow, as i cleaned carb & it's got nice spark.

Wanted to see what it would look like with a blue tank & a black seat, just kicking around ideas whether to stay stock , white medal tank or
blue & blue or black seat or go with the plastic one. What you think?

I've been thinking about doing my '83 175 like that, 81-82 silver panel tank, gold fork lowers, black 83 style side panels and silver painted frame. Kind of like the '82 500 works bike Billy Grossi rode. Like this but maybe with a black XC tank or a blue WR tank:

Yeah , put some stock black numberplate on there 2, but right side don't look right, so something more custom is needed. Although
i don't mind the 84 plastic that was on there as well. Still un-decided , probably just leave it all white til, i get it race able.
