Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a 2009 TE610 for an OTD price of $8400. Mind you I live in Oahu, Hawaii. But still, I feel like I'm getting ripped off a bit here. The MSRP is $7999 but I keep seeing people get these great deals back in the 48. Should I go for it or try to wheel and deal the dealership down a little more? Thanks D
2009 610 I guess I am qualified to answer your question as I too live on Oahu and bought a 2009 te-610 in June of 09. At that time I talked to TJ at Domenico's and was told he could not get one as Husqvarna was only importing about 100 into the US for 2009 and they were all spoken for by other dealers. My friend and I were planning on riding the TAT that summer so we ended up buying our bikes from Bill in Oregon and having them shipped to Hawaii. We still had to pay Hawaii sales tax plus there was a big hassle registering them because Husqvarna screwed up and put the VIN decals in the wrong place (I think all their 2009 bikes are like that, the VIN decal is on the front fender). So I think that $8400 is a good price because I ended up paying msrp $7999 plus shipping plus 4.7% tax plus registration plus the hassle of getting bike registered. Anyway, I love the bike and have put about 6800 miles on it in 8 months with no problems.
Gulp! Wow, that's a lot of money! FWIW, the new 630 is going to have it's US launch this Saturday in Indy... I'd wait and get that instead.
Yeah, but I still have no idea what the MSRP is going to be. The dealer couldn't even get that info and he e-mailed the distributor in NJ. And the e-mail he got today from the distributor said they weren't going to officially release the 630, which they are dubbing the 2011 since they claim there was not actually a production of the 630 for 2010, until April or May. Any truth to that claim?
I got from $7999 to $6700 without much trouble. However, that was West Virginia... I know this is Hawaii, where, like California everything is more expensive than need be to pay for the socialist nirvanas.. Even though, I think a 12-15% discount with this economy should be doable... Mike..
Halls has one on their website for $6999. I know they ship but not sure what you'd be talking for HI.
MS Motorsports quoted me 9400 OTD and I told them to keep it! 8400 is not to far out of line considering where you live.
Yes, April for sure is the earliest. You might call George@Uptite about the 610. He has 2 or 3. I have absolutely no idea what he'd sell them for or whether he'd ship but a call wouldn't hurt. 1 714 540-2920. He's normally in M-Sat, 9-6 pacific time but has a funeral to go to sometime this week so, being a one man operation, no answer probably means he's doing his obligation.
In Aussie we would get it knocked down to say 11,000 which in current exchange rates is about US 10,000. So I would just say thanks mate, you got any more.
Yeah, but you guys pay about $2,000 more across the board for any Husky than we do. Even on a TE-450 after the exchange rate, you guys pay about $2K (U.S.) more than we do, but you get a 2-year warranty, whereas we get 6 months. His dealer is shanking him because there is no competition. Anybody on the mainland can get that bike down well under $8K (U.S.) out-the-door easily, maybe even as low as $7,500, especially on a left-over.
