View attachment 12275 this is my 250 im doing a resteration rebuld on i was given the bike in 96 by my mates mum after we had a car crash and i lost a very go frend and in his legercy im going to do what he all ways wanted to do race it agan from memory the last time kev raced this bike about 93/94 he won quite a few races on it i hope i can to i have a feture of this adsact bike in 1988 trail&track mag it was riden by mark avard for a cupla months as a race and practice bike its had fair amount of port work done on it ive hade the suspetion fully serviced a newpipe made full motor rebuld i posted stuff some wher eles can find it ive got some new parts coming the frame is at the powder coaters im sending all alloy parts to get soder blasted ive stripped the wheels to repaint hubs and replace spokes its all coming to gether it just take time i hope to line up at the first round of pre 90s next year View attachment 12273

Mitch, my swingarm is cracked in about the same spot. I found it when I was cleaning it up with a scotch brite. If you can find it...there was a service bulletin update they put out on the '88 250 Cagiva to add welds to the swingarm. However, if I remember right, the update doesn't say to weld where our swingarms are cracked. But when you have it fixed, you might want to do the updated weld too. I think it was in here:

Looking for a seat and rad shrouds for an '85 500. The '85 uses the smaller MX tank, like that shown on the bike below. Those parts are different from the later bikes which use the oversize dez tank. If anybody ever sees those parts, I'd appreciate a heads up.

more gold today ive located some more parts in the way of a power valve cover one fork leg cover over the christmas brake im going on a road trip to have a look through some dusty shelves contaning new old stock cagiva parts can't wate for that the bigest pece of gold is the fuel tank theirs one out ther some where and im going to find it not much left now its all get very close to going back together

i've got all the alloy parts back yeterdy painted the hubs striped end painted radiators got new hex key bolts for every thing.I hope to get wheels laced next week hopefully i'll have it rolling at the end of next week and my phone back from apple so I can tack some photos

All the NOS parts are hiding in Australia! If you find another right side panel please let me know. Mine is almost rolling..

I had a friend in Italy get me a set from this company for my '88. It arrived last week and I was dissapointed in the quality. It's very cheap vinyl decals. I'm using them, but I'm cutting my own N Style heavy 3M clear number plate backgrounds to cover the decals. I'm not using the number plate backgrounds, but using them as templates to cut out thick backgrounds out of N Style green.

My radiator shrouds were is decent shape so I reused them since this plastic is so difficult to find. I wet sanded them to remove the big scratches...then I used Krylon fusion plastic paint. A few coats of that gave them a nice new look. Then I made templates and cut pieces of black background material to cover the majority of the shroud. Then installed the Cagiva decals..and finally covered them with clear.
