Im having trouble with my bike. The bike rolls in neutral no problem but then when i drop i in to gear and grab the clutch to roll it, it DOES NOT disengage. I thought it was the plates not separating and they were old, so I bought new ones.... Still didn't work. Thought it was the cable being to stretched out, got a new one... didnt work. Took ever thing apart for the 10th time and cleaned up the trust washer and push assembly to see if it wasn't pushing far enough and got a little progression but nothing really. I had the bike up on a stand and put the bike in gear held the clutch down and started rolling the tire and it started to free up and wasn't cranking the motor over. I thought I was in the clear when that happened so I started it up and dropped it in to gear on the stand and the back tire was rolling with the clutch held down. I really do not know what else to do PLEASE HELP BEFORE I LIGHT THIS THING ON FIRE!
I doubt if there is a motor cycle that has ever been made that while in gear on a stand that the wheel dosnt spin without the brake being on to some degree !! So what happens if you actually try riding the bike ?
take the clutch plates/friction plates out: does it roll now, in gear? does the engine kick over okay (on the ground)? you got something loose/free in the bottom end or tranny maybe.
When the plates and fibers are off the bike rolls. The wheels and motor connection is no longer there. The hub spins with the wheel when I roll it and when I spin the basket I can hear the piston compress.
too many plates? wrong plate in first? friction plates too fat? springs coil bound? edit: does it roll with the clutch pack in but not tightened down? edit edit: can you see the clutch pack move (very slightly) when you actuate the lever?
I have actually heard that same problem, when they discovered that the tiny ball behind the pushrod was missing. Apparently, the ball came out somewhere? stated they pulled out the bottom oil plug and found it later in the drained oil. Well, I never had that happen. but ok.
I'll take a look. I want to see if that push rod got deformed some how or if that ball was dented some how.
it has been discussed here many times.. here is a page from search results http://www.cafehusky.com/search/1429409/?q=clutch&o=date&c[title_only]=1&c[node]=68 http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/internal-clutch-adjustment-on-wr300.80446/ try searching when you have an issue, before getting too frustrated.
