250-500cc 96 360 WXC, very hard clutch pull

I`m helping a friend out with his bike, it`s an all stock and original 96 360 WXC. The problem is the clutch lever is so hard to pull in, after a few miles of riding tight rocky trails his hand is too tired to slip the clutch properly and he constantly stalls the bike. What can he do to make the clutch pull easier? Is it possible to swap half the clutch springs with lighter springs from a smaller bike?

Could you do this for him?

It's called the OFG clutch mod. The thread went around a while back.
I'd never heard of it before. I guess the principal at work here is it just gives you more leverage on the actuator shaft.

Can't comment on how well it works,...or holds up. Never done it.

Thanks Rusty, I like Boom Boom`s idea with the spring. Less likely to mess anything up with the clutch rod.
