httpromoto.tv/wickenburg.html It's not much but I thought I saw a Husky go by. Glad you made it. TW That smiley is supposed to be a : then promoto. I can't seem to fix it?
Was that him giving the thumbs up in the blue outfit at the beginning? Cool! http://promoto.tv/wickenburg.html
http://www.promoto.tv/wickenburg.html I used a different type of URL address that gets to the same place that does not have the "p" right after the ":" which results in a
thats me,,,right at the start,,we transferred down a dirt road for awhile, then hit the trail into the hills.
here HSQ crew (19A) only husky there, http://krhphotos.smugmug.com/Racing-2008/634356 ,things should change soon with Harden at the helm. PS I was catching that earlier minute guy. these are sections that I rode (with just a little more speed and Jr., Bobbit and some others Ousley for another just railed right past) http://www.vholdr.com/video/national-enduro-2008-kilauea-crusher-clip-14 http://www.vholdr.com/video/national-enduro-2008-kilauea-crusher-clip-3
too bad i don't ride like a pro I never saw DB , he was the trail boss and along with Al Randt were the main NEPG reps, The word at riders meet from DB was that the A loop was very challenging (trials bike challenging), that spoke alot about the terrain there. Al Randt (enduro engineering) is super nice and even answered an email I sent to recommend tires for the event, we have a really cool sport, that allows us to access top people. And plus we get to take the field with top pros,,super cool!! Only I need some self redemption for stopping after the C loop!!
Lookeeng gooood Robby! I miss it out there...got tons of miles with my bud's from ATR on them and the 'mile-marker' trails bustin' toes, getting chollae'd etc. Used to do the loops post-race backwards, at night! Got ropes? There's some pretty cool sections and grottos. Esp after it get's cobbled up. Jerseys and pants dont last long there...I'd bring the rattyest dud's I had for a reason. Old school pic of a wet one (stolen from ATR) ,was sometimes makeable going up it, tons of this stuff out there, AZ rocks! :
in the pro moto vid you can see that big #1 on the back of Lafferty,,,,and I think the other main player on the KTM 2 stroke is Bobbit,,,,,those guys kinda go fairly fast!!! just for more cannon fodder,,,,,Jr passed me then we entered a small rocky sand wash, I knew Bobbit was on the next minute after Jr... well he came up on me fast towards a sand bermed right hander and I right footed him to go inside me,,, he didn't and with my tank arse barreling into the berm and he crossed my rear wheel heading up the berm and promptly crashed over the berm into the wash wall,,,,,, I rode about 20 feet stopped to the right and waited for him to just go by,,, he was up and going super fast,,,and of course said something unheard. I was just shaking my head that I might have some effect on the Nat championship...... he won the Nat champ and as you all know Jr won the event.... I was min 19 Jr was 21 Bobbit was 22
Awesome! took him out.... Maybe next time 'his holyness' will pay attention to other riders signals. Not a big fan of Bobbit anywho, so ......
Alan Randt is good people. I can remember buying riding gear and accy's out of the basement of the Randt home in Lansing in the late 70's, before Larry (Alan's dad) even had their shop. Alan was just a kid then. In 1980, Alan and I and 2 others rode team in the district 14 enduro series. We finished 4th. In the coming years Alan got fast, and well, I only got half-fast. Al went on to compete in several ISDE's until he was seriously injured in Poland many years ago, effectively ending his pro career. He then was KTM's US team manager for many years, and was Mike Lafferty's wrench for most of that time. Al can still get it done when he wants to- he finished 3rd overall at Canada's Corduroy enduro last month. He and DB created and own the NEPG. You can reach Al most any day by calling Lansing Cycle/EnduroEngineering. 517.393.6477 Now if he would just start making Husky parts in his shop...
