These guys call this a fast-trail ... Anything smooth is a fast-trail pretty much here. Anyway, I was asking this guy on the blue, tank-looking Rascal race bike ....125cc 4t I'd guess ... , where this road went and he wanted to show me the way so I just followed and had a good time with it .. This guy was killling me with his riding and actions ... The VID does show pretty much how these guys ride the dirt roads here on this type dirt bike and what that bike can do ...We might have hit 30mph, maybe ... He stays in the riding line about always .. I gotta ask him about that grader moment next time I see him... He's got a disc on front but I don't think he used it ... It looked a lot better live and I was watching what he was doing with that foot with only a flip-flop on ... The rider and bike. The ride on a connector road to another road. Goodnight and bedtime ... here ... Sleeping more is about the best thing an old guy can do for himself ....
I see these guys on all kind of bikes and wearing all kinds of gear or no gear really as the guy on the Rascal ... So I'm really clueless on what their riding skills are until I ride with them and see what happens ... There have been 3-4 guys here that I know quit riding after 1 big crash because they really were over their heads in their riding. So, when we rounded that downhill corner with the grader out there, I had no clue how that guy was gonna make it... But if you watch, he locked the rear up, slide sideways till he was close to that first pile of dirt, then straighten the bike up and used that pile to help stop the bike. Perfect! Not sure why he did not use the front brake and I was watching his foot the entire time and he protected it well also ... You just never know till it happens ...
These guys travel in packs sometimes so if you see one piece of road equipment, you might see a second one or more in the same vicinity...
I've seen guys quit after one crash. Sometimes when I group rides together when one of there buddies crashes if he quits riding another will quit too. Then there's the guy who will get up and ride right away. I had a very bad crash on a quad three times. The first time the aluminum tie rod end snapped. The replacement tie rod end was steel. Even the diameter of the steel rod that connects them was larger. I replaced both sides. My point is when we got home I took out the street bike. I could move my fingers on my left arm but couldn't pickup my arm. I had to put my left hand on the handle bar with my right hand. I could only squeeze the clutch. I rode for an hour. My shoulder did loosen up a tad. If your gonna ride we have to be tough.
