I know 2 people that love them. Then I come here and read all the troubles with them. I'm looking at one That has 6000 miles on it. It has never seen dirt Price is good. I know most people only post about the bad (myself included). So ... I am going to buy it... it'll be good on the back of a RV. : ) Opinions?

Thanks for links. I'd looked at a couple of those And advrider I see I'm not the first...lol Just wondered the latest trials and tribulations...
Wouldn't worry about the known flaws - they're easily fixed. These bikes are fantastic- honestly one of the best dual sports ever to hit the market IMHO.
Yeah, it's a great bike. Had mine for 4years, only issues were caused by me dropping it on trails and were easily fixed with parts from a dealer. You'll probably love it.
Cool. I think they're wonderful bikes with some fixable known problems and (on some of them) a potentially significant problem that KTM/BMW have yet to address. I'm one of the lucky owners and hope you end up the same. Keep us posted on your new ride.
You did the right thing. If the particular mix of civil road manners, off-road prowess, style and power offered by the Terra check the right boxes for you, then nothing else will because there is nothing else out there like the Terra.
"The only thing better is a TE630" Maybe, but when I bought my Terra used I also looked at a 630 that was nowhere as nice as the Terra and the $$ was more than the Terra. Don't know if that's still true today but it was 3 years ago.
I should have qualified that statement and said "TE630 with a power commander, auto tuner, leo vince exhaust and a kx450 12 port fuel injector" It took some experimenting to finally get the bike to run like it should. I think the Terra's are fine right out of the box.
...looks like I may be picking up a '14 Terra soon. Kind of looking forward to this since I was sold on finding a nice Dakar for so long. I had a TE610 for a while and thought it was a bit of a pig offroad, and a slug too...however I had just come off a 950 Advernture... Haven't ridden the Terra yet but fingers crossed!
I've ridden 450 EXC-R for D/S. and keeping it. For legal off-road and connecting road bike But I'm loving the Terra for what I think will be a great2 lane.. gravel,...Jeep road,..ATV trails. No single track bike
I have a 2009 450 EXC-R too. After many bike swaps I found the EXC to be the best offroad bike I've ever ridden. When I get the Terra...I hope I don't have to make a decision about selling one or the other. I wanna keep both.
Mine is a 08 that I bought in '10 when everyone was jumping off ship because of hard starting and other issues....fixed all that and some updates on engine parts and it is a great bike....so kind of like a few fleeing the TR650 its a buyers market if you can work on a bike IMO. Buy a Terra/Strada and keep both. its 2 bikes for less than the price of a new KLR : ) but Terra is not going to go where the 450 goes...as easy. But I think you know that.
Yeah, kinda thinking the Terra will be a little funner on the longer day rides. I pretty much to ride the EXC 20 miles to a trailhead, not bad. It does 75mph no problemo. Terra, more relaxed and plush due to the weight. I rode a friend's X-Challenge on assorted roads for a couple days. It was great out in the mountain roads. Offroad it was just sorta meh. I don't have big offroad expections for the T. Just seems to be an upgrade from the Dakar I've been looking for. Newer too...
