About To Pull The Trigger On A Tc 449 ... Any Advice?

I'm just hours away from pulling the trigger on a 2011 TC 449. The bike will primarily be for fire roads and single track here in NJ. Bike I'm looking at has about 30 hrs on it, and seems mechanically good. So what can I expect maintenance wise at 30 hours? Anything specific I should look for? I've never owned a Husky, only Japanese bikes, so I know nothing about them. Mechanically I'm unstoppable, I build race cars and motorcycles in my spare time.

I believe the TCs might have the same flywheel issues as the TE & TXCs. If you read the other thread you heard about it- just replace the stock screws with better screws and you should be fine.

I don't know what the crankcase venting is like on a TC but the TEs need the valve cover vented; the factory plumbing vents from the cylinder base and sometimes liquid engine oil gets pushed into the air filter. if a TC is vented in the same place (yes- I bet it is) I am guessing oil is dumped to the ground.

brake pedals and gear shifters bend/fall off and there are little-to-none aftermarket replacements; check the tightness a lot.

if you're doing a lot of single track, you might wanna gear down a bit. Stock gearing is good for power-line stuff.

I hope you get a really good deal on it. Should be deeply discounted due to lack of factory support. Nice bike, but good luck!
