How are the Lectrons working out on the WR 250s, thanx. Thinking 36 mm for tight single track. I also ice race.

I have a 09 WR 300 and went with a 36 mm, yesterday was the first long ride with it and I love it. Went on 2 short rides to get it tuned in before the 60 mile ride yesterday. I can lug it down coming into corners and pull away with no problems. I had no luck with the TMXX, then never really got it leaned out enough with the PWK, but now I can see a tannish color on the plug. The ride yesterday was in the desert by Murphy Id.

How are adjustments made on the carb?

they come setup well for most. If you need to adjust the starting and idle you adjust the ROD by screwing it in or out in 1/4 turns. this sets the starting and idle and bottom. Once you set that you leave the rod alone. Then for roll on power and top end there is an external adjustor on the carb you simply turn. This is all well documented in the included instructions.

I have an 09 WR250 with a 38mm Lectron and a Gnarly pipe. I went 1/2 turn leaner on the metering rod and haven't touched the high speed power jet yet. The bike runs smoother and harder everywhere + is using a lot less fuel in the tight woods. It starts 1st or second kick cold and usually 1st kick warm in gear or in neutral.

I have an 09 WR250 with a 36mm. After leaning the rodout 1 turn I set the rod back 1 turn richer to the factory setting. It runs like a raped ape and lugs down so low it would stall with a normal carb. I also have the gnarly and milled head. I set the power jet at 1 turn out. First ride out was from 500ft to 3000ft for 32miles and only used 1 gallon of gas.

OK, now for big question, 36 or 38. I like torque and short shifting.

Good question. My 38mm gives me more torque and lugs better down low but also screams like a 125 on top. I would imagine a 36 would be more snappy and might also lug better but since I haven't tried both back to back I really can't say. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I chose the 38 thinking it would be smoother and easier to ride and it is but others with the 36 are saying the same thing.

Get the 38 for the 250/300. You will loose no low end.

We have a winner. Thanx, will help ice racing as well I'd say. All my buddies race 450s.
