So looks like my factory Excel rear wheels on my 2006 WR250 is pretty bent and I'd like to replace it. Can I just buy any aftermarket Excel or DID wheel as long as it has the same amount of spokes or does it need to be specific to our bikes? I will be replacing spokes and nips as well, but re-using the hubs at this point since they are fine.

It will need to be a husky specific unless you get custom made spokes. You should be aware the 2011 and newer husky wheels are different as well.

So the 36 hole excel wheels will not fit as long as they are the same height and width as stock? Is the spoke pattern different or something? What's husky specific about the stock excels?

They switched the indexing of the wheels. You are correct the WR 250/300 did not change though. It is just easier shopping to stay in the 2004 - 2010 year range then there is no question of will it fit.

Is there any company that offer complete wheelsets for these bikes with billet hubs that have the same bolt pattern as stock for sprocket and brake disc? I see Warp 9 will build a set, but looks like they have a different sprocket and brake disc the hubs come with. Also not sure how decent the quality is on those Warp 9 rims compared to an Excel.

Warp 9 better and less money.
