    Do i really need that air filter mesh screen between the filter and air boot? I dont think the seal is very good because of it..

    I removed it from all 4 of my Husky 4-strokes that had one. including a red head 310. None caught fire. I believe that is the intent, to keep a rogue backfire from igniting the air filter...
