Working on an ‘84 husky 500cr. I bought a new replacement rubber boot that goes in the Airbox to connect to the back of the carb. My question is, should this rubber be attached to the Airbox? Maybe siliconed in? Seems like it needs to seal to the Airbox itself. Ideas?

From the 83 Racing Handbook (the airbox and connection part #s are the same for 83 and 84):

Maybe an adhesive like 3M 77?
