So whats the trick to getting access to that one airbox screw under the fuel tank? What can I remove with out disassembling most of the bike?

Just to help out the situation- If you can spare cutting up a torx bit you can get it real short and just use a 1/4 open ender. Picture page 3 of the thread copied in above.
I took my airbox out last night. You can fight and fuss and bend stuff but when it comes down to it it's better to take the exhaust off. I also removed the fuel line at the rail. These hose clamps must be "Italian hose clamps" My Aprilia RXV had the same clamps. I cut up a pair of slip-joint pliers specifically for these when I had the Ape. Once the exhaust was off the rear subframe practically fell down. Surprised me actually I had to catch it. Then the air box came right out no problem.
The fuel line comes out of the pump assembly quite easily for future note. Once you figure it out, it is easy peasy. Push down with your thumbs, and pull up with your fingers at the same time. http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/ho...clearances-pictorial.34537/page-4#post-330239
I managed to getthe airbox apart yesterday, thanks for the advise. The trick was loosing the bottom sub frame bolts, as I had everything else done by then. Had quite a bit of dirt in there. Proceeding to clean and mod.
Almost everyone has found dirt infiltration. No matter what mod you use (Pod or 3D) just do it. Your engine will last a lot longer.
