Hey, any other 610 owners have a spinning insert issue with their Airbox? I'm sick of it. Cost to replace is robbery. I'm getting a newie manufactured for me. After a real good look, i dont trust the Orig. to seal proper. This is a shoddy design if ever I've seen one. At kleast with the made one, my air intakes will be higher, larger as well. Although I've ridden some deep water without drama. Is there some kind of replacement unit ?

I had the same problem with my '93 350, which is basically still the same box, and ended up going throught 3 boxes with it. A square insert would be better. Surely someone makes a carbon fiber box for them by now. :banghead:

:applause:Ok, I've ditched the OEM Airbox, piece of crap it is. I'm now the owner of a Beautifull piece of Alloy, thats been remade into an Airbox, looks almost like it was an original piece of of equipment. Same size, same mount points but it seals better and allows Much much more air into the unit. I had the rear of the box modified, it now opens out to a larger gather/draw area, so I now use a larger part of the filter. Only minus is I've likely compromised water crossing depth. Who cares, at least I know my engine isnt getting dusted because of an Ill fitting airbox. Will post some pics when I get a camera that links witht the PC. The 610 feels quicker and more responsive for it. How do I tell if I need to rejet for the added airflow? What lets me know if it's needed? Now I know I have to get a Pipe, this bike is just Awesome to ride. :notworthy:

Watch the color of your plug, if it starts to turn white instead of the brown color it should be,then its time to put a bigger jet in it,or raise the needle one notch.

Yeah it would be interesting to see what you did, whenever you get your camera in order :D

  8. Nick Mac,

Are you ready to go into production :D ?

I'm not a big fan of the airbox, either.
