What a great race super tuff 100 mile desert race about 30 persent DNF lots of videos posted over a www.district37ama.org Anyway it was a 3 loop race with only the pros and younger experts getting to do the last 15 miles or loop 3 I finished 5th over all 2 loopers which was 5th in the combined 0 to open and second in the 250 Mag expert class Because it was so sandy with lots of tuff hill climbs on loop 2 i rode my WR 250 the stock gearing made every hill first time As for the Zip Ty Racing team i heard Davis Kamo was running 4th over all with about 15 miles to go when a stick went thru the coolant system Nic Burson was about 7th over all with like 10 miles to go when something happen that coused a DNF and Jami Lanza hit a rock that broke a oil line just before the finish The next National will be in about 3 weeks where we will go to Red Mt Calif
Not a bad showing for Zip Ty I think. Considering they've had the bike for a week or two tops [while everyone else has had their bikes for 4 or 5 months], I think they are on the way to something good.
this is a short look at some of loop3 If you think desert racing is flat and fast try this http://www.district37ama.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43184 Now how can you not want to race or just come ride a National desert race
SEN A rider (ISDE vet)(Enduro360.com) Chilly said it was the hardest most technical H&H he has ever done in 12 years of H&H competition.
Jamie Lanza and Dave Kamo ZipTy Husky Team, both DNF ( teething pains for dez racing IMHO) dont know if the team has ever run the TC250 in a dez race? Note: the Jamie TC250 is running zokes up front. Photos courtesy of Mark Kariya
I talked to Ty at a BITD event last year and he said a properly set up twin chamber zokes is way better than the KYB forks. I loved my LTR tuned forks on my 09 TXC!
hey john great job man. very tough race. red mtn? i know some canyon enduro loop climbs and drops on the s/e side that are full on seriously scary pieces of cr*p lol. funny when we'd take the dez scoffers over there thinking everything is flat then they go- WTF??? lol. no i aint comin' out to race this year...hahahaha. maybe next season gotta date with a surgeon soon so, got some films last night things aint good so in shoudler town...keep ya posted. maybe ill come pit fer ya or something or inspect yer cooler for the propper beers and stuff...you rule man, keep ripping and show 'em how the old guys do it.
