I have fought back issues for the last ten years. Last summer I was down for six weeks with back issues and missed most of the prime riding season. Well things were going good and getting stronger, gym/swimming three days a week. I was doing some leg extensions in the gym and when I got up my right leg and hip felt "weird" thought it was muscle. It was still a PIA a week later so I went to see my Doc. and explained what I was doing and he gave me the "look". He said that exersise puts too much stress on your low back and I probably blew my bad disc out worse, nice........ A month later after some injection therepy its no better. MRI showed disc is completely ruptured. Surgeon wants to see me this week for a consul. I have five weeks of school left ( I teach mechanical tech. at the comm. college). toughing it out until school gets out. Dang it! I only got two rides in this spring so far. Getting old takes all the fun out of it, here at 44 and 280lbs I was hoping to still make it to the Supercross podium? My summer vacation should be filled with pain killers and therepy instead of the sweet smell of two stroke fumes!

    damn, that's a bummer :(

i'm nervous to fully kick this season off... had dics issues the past two years. herniated a lower disc Nov '09, then another in my neck end of July '10. got a MX race end of this month and neither of my Huskys (or me!) are ready yet.

hope your consultation with the surgeon goes well! good luck.

Ugghhhhhhhhh! Well at least you can come up and see us this summer. We'll sit on the pontoon boat and enjoy the sunshine and pull the kids around on the tube.
