I couldn't see any mention if they have a cat. Wouldn't this be mandatory on a street accessory in many jurisdictions?

AUS_TR650 you might talk to Shane at Screaming Demon email: evolveimports@hotmail.com
He did say that they are street legal in AU with baffles in, that you had strict emmision laws similar to EU. But no mention of the cats. Sure sits well on the bike, nice and tight!

apparently no cats in these cans, though they do claim they are street legal in AU.

To be registered in Australia, imported vehicles must comply with the ADRs (Australian Design Rules). The ADRs for emissions do not apply to motorcycles, therefore there is no requirement for a catalytic converter to be fitted on an imported motorcycle, although many do because they are a requirement in other markets and we get the same model shipped here. That said, you'd need to check with the vehicle registration body in your state, or the Environmental protection regulations applicable where you live, because even though the cat is not a minimum requirement, there are probably applicable regulations which prohibit the removal of the cat, or the replacment of the exhaust with an exhaust with no cat, and if there are, and there is no exemption for motorcycles, then it is probably an offence to replace the original with a non-cat aftermarket exhaust. Of course, chances of anyone ever checking.. boy you'd have to be a very bad boy for someone to dig that deep to find an offence to pin on you.

A police officer only has to have "reason to suspect" (no actual proof) that a vehicle is unroadworthy to issue a defect notice.
If they can't smell rotten egg gas from the exhaust, you're nicked!

Interesting theory. You shouldn't get the rotten egg smell unless the engine is running rich and unburnt fuel is making its way down to the cat. IF your bike smells like rotten eggs you better get that looked at.

installation was super easy, just took me a few minutes. they sound frickin awesome with the baffles out (LOUD), but throaty with the baffles in. they look nice, and they sound great. i changed em out at the same time i did the wukaking, so not sure if they lean out the bike too much without the WK. might be careful runnin em sans baffles without WK, moss, etc... bike runs fine even with baffles out with both changes...

    Thanks for your feedback.

Well I decided to buy a set of these for my Terra. They sure look nice in the photos and based on your feedback they sound like one of the best options currently available. I like the interchangeable baffles. If I want something different I can fab my own baffles using them as a pattern.

I like that they are small and tucked in like the OEM silencers. I didn't care for the Staintune single sided I saw, too big. And I wasn't crazy about the GRP option either. I kinda like the twin pipe setup, looks cool and I can run quieter baffles and still get the flow needed to make good power.
