Well my favorite ride area has finally melted enough to ride. Went up with some friends for a day over the weekend and had a great ride. Funny group I ride with, very few japanese bikes. Huskys, KTM, GG, etc. My group had my WR125, my old TXC450, Adams WR250 and a GG 250. Good times... Hey, lets ride out there... OK... Left to right, Tom (on my old TXC450), Adam (wr250) Shane (new to him GG 250 SE with Ohlins) Snow drifts still around but passable... that last intersection leads us to this awesome spot... Ridiculous views from there... Down the hill and up the other side... It does not suck here... lots of big old growth here makes this place special... well the epic 300 miles of single track help. From this ride area you are smack dab in the middle of 4 major mountains, Rainer, Adams, Helens and Hood, makes for some breathtaking views around every corner...
Capitol is slightly north and mainly west of here. Not near as good riding, not by a long shot. I don't even go there any more as it is all quaded out.
What a shame that it is ruined. When I lived near there and rode it, it seemed like nobody rode up there and I never saw any quads. I barely saw other trail bikes. (of course that was 19 years ago)
Superb scenery and great photography.....Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to post up.
Nice, a few weeks ago i tried to get up the 271 to connect to 119 but got turned around because of snow and logs my pack saw could not cut.
we went from cat creek to hamilton butte, to yozoo to blue lake ridge trail down blue lake and back on valley. Blue lake ridge trail 272 towards 119 was still snowed in some so we did not even try. Another few weeks.
Can't wait to get up there Thursday on my WR125, as much fun as the Gas Gas was I have a feeling the WR will be a better bike for Gifford.
