I know I am on the wrong side of the pond but was advised this is the best Husky forum around. So I decided to drop in an say Hello as I just bought a 13 TR650 with about 5K miles on it. Back in the day I used to race a CR400 and expect this to be the same. I keed So now I am off to read and learn all about the newest addition to the stable. Marc
I got in a little bit of a ride today and am loving it so far. Looking closely it already has a lot of goodies on it like Wolfman racks, SW Motech pegs, crash bars, brake guard, ROX risers. When scrolling through the displays on the dash there is one that says UG CON and I assume this is the fuel consumption in US Gallons. After a 50 mile ride today it is saying .83 I sure hope I am getting more that one mile per gallon. Got it out for a short ride today to break in the tires and get to know each other. So far it is everything I expected and think it will make a great bike. Marc
.83 represents the gallons used. So 50 miles / .83 gallons = 60 mpg. The UG CON (US Gallons Consumption) works really well as a "reverse" fuel gauge. Tank holds 3.something gallons. Just remember to reset the gauge whenever you fill up. Note that you must reset the trip and consumption separately.
Hey Lomax, I didn't realize you bought a Terra also. Small world huh? I got out on my first ride last weekend. I did just a bit of dirt scratching near the house to see how it felt overall there. The rest of the 80 mile ride was through the local mtns, what a hoot. The first thing that goes, those tires, hate 'em. I've got the same SW-M pegs ordered along with SW-Motech QD racks, Touratech hand guards, a R&G Tail Tidy (kinda expensive on that one), and a Nomadic Cycles rear rack which was very reasonably priced. I'm thinking to get a MadStad windscreen but want to confer with them on height. After my ride I think I'll take a serious look at the GPR steering stabilizer also. I wish it had a bit more rake. I dialed in a little more rebound on the shock also. Stock is 11 clicks, I think something around 8-9 will be about right. I'm loving this bike, it's what I've been looking for in over a year.
Today was a good day so far. I have to go out and ride it now to see if the difference has been made. Installed a 1" lowering Kuoba link and raised the front forks to the third line. This also made it not lean over so much on the kickstand. Sill plenty of lean however. Installed a 15 tooth sprocket and new cover. Install a cross bar and the GPS. Marc
Got a little ride in and a report to give. At 5"10" with a 32" inseam, the 1" Kuoba link was just the ticket to lower the bike to a comfortable level. Still not both feet flat but easy one foot down when stopped and it those off camber situations. The 15 tooth sprocket did exactly what I wanted. My 70mph RPM sent from 4K with the 16 tooth to 4.5K with the 15 tooth. the lowering of first gear made a big difference on the 5 to 10 mph dirt switchbacks, plenty of lugging power now. where as before the RPM was a little too low. Mileage for the trip was right at 60mpg so range is still good. This was a combination of highway and slow dirt roads. I headed for the ugly country for a little back yard jaunt. Yea, I know, there is a rock there. Danged PC BS Boulder has to warn you about everything. and close shit off just in case you are stupid enough to walk off the cliff. I am very please with the modifications done today and very pleased with the bike. This is probably the best dual sport I have ever had. Ride fast, crash often. Marc
That is what I would expect to see. I must not enough brownie points or something because my screen does not have an edit button. The bottom of my posts look just like this. If a mod could PM me about this is would be greatly appreciated. Lomax, Yesterday at 3:51 PM House Keeping #8 Reply
You can only edit your own posts, so if you can't see an edit button, either you're not logged in, or you're trying to edit someone elses post. (also this happened to me once on advrider.com forum, and it turns out that my config had changed and had loaded a new interface/skin which didn't include edit buttons, but I actually can't see any option to change the layout in CH so I doubt that is the issue)
I learned something tonight. Husqvarna means crappy headlight in Swedish. An no I can still not edit my own posts and cannot get an answer from a mod ?? no edit button. Marc
