I run 40:1. I broke mine in with a tank of 32:1 and had so much spooge after a short ride, oil was running out the silencer and dripping on to the swing arm!
Even at 40:1 with the keihin there seemed to be more spooge than I would expect. I run my left kickers at 24:1 with virtually no spooge.
I was supposed to be trying my new Lectron out today but it's raining here so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Who makes that skid plate? I like the pipe protector built on to the front!

i bought the bike used with 30 hours so i dont know who makes the skid plate but i will take pics and see who makes it and let you know. I think ill stick with 40:1 and be plenty safe after i adjust my lectron correctly ...

What mixture did the previous owner run? I make it a point to ask what mixture/oils were being run in a used bike before making too many changes.

The dealer I got it from had no idea thats why I'm worried about all of this. by the way I run klotz supertechniplate in my two strokes ( idk if that's how it's spelled)

The engine will definitely last longer at 32:1, but it must be jetted to do so. Many riders down here use 36:1.

Ty and I argue about this all the time. He runs 40-50:1, however, he has already had to fully rebuild both of his 2015 250 and 350's this year.

wow that a little excesive, i guess i cant go wrong to run 32:1 if im already going to mess with the carb

i also run super techniplate klotz, have forever. have also run 40:1 forever. i get good engine life out of stuff, but i dont race, just play ride but i dont take it all that easy on stuff. do you race? if i raced all season i would likely run 32:1...
dont forget ty davis is a mega fast racer.
on the other end of the spectrum i have a 88 xc250 that still has 215 psi compression that i bought as NOS. it has over 200 hours on the original bore. all its life has been 40:1, mostly klotz super tecniplate. before that golden spectro before i discovered castor.
if you have huge amounts of spooge, it likely isnt the premix, as the klotz i run has a very very high flashpoint of 460f, and i have little spooge issues, long as the exhaust isnt leaking. very little smoke, none once warm

you made me change my mind. Im like you , I don't race but I'm not easy on it. I have 40:1 in here now so I'll stick with it. I'll tune my lectron tommrow tommrow since the idle screw is only a half turn out.

I have always run some where between 32 to 35 to 1 BUT with straight 110 leaded race gas I have a 2006 Cr 125 that has more race miles then I believe any other 125 out there and it is still on the same stock cylinder and only 1 crank bearing and rod kit since 2006.
My current 2010 Husky 300 race bike went 4 years on the stock crank and is also on the same original cylinder
With race gas and the stock carb it does not spooge ever no matter where I ride it

I mix what the owner manual says, 2% synthetic (that is 50:1) and used 3% (32:1) for the brake-in period.
Most of the guys I ride with that have 2 strokes are using far less oil than me, some 1,5% (65:1), others even 1% (100:1), the guys that runs 1% are competing in the local and national enduros and they don't have problems as it seems...

I do like going that lean with the oil and prefer to stick with 2%. But my bike is smoking a lot and sometimes I'm thinking of lowering the premix a bit.
The problem is that we do some slow enduro over here, I rarely get over 1/3 throttle and the engine gets loaded up with oil and starts to smoke... I some open sections I do twist the throttle and the smoking get better after a few accelerations.

Well, thinking it, I think I'll let it as it is and continue smoking up the guys that goes behind me hehe

    Regards.
