I have to be in the area the end of Febuary (work meetings) and am thinking of taking a bike. Is it a good riding area? Thanks. Would anyone want to hook up? Any other ride areas in a couple hundred mile radius?Be able to ride from the24th on.

I ride there fairly often. It's about the best place within 100 miles of Nashville TN to ride. If schedules permit, I'd be more than happy to hook up and ride out there. There's a fast main loop (which is 2-way and dangerous on weekends), and countless other trails. Fabulous singletrack if you know where to look. :). Most all of it is marked. If we can find a good guide, the unmarked is the best.

Our club (www.MTDR.net) is having a club ride at Carter Mountain the 13th.... not sure if you can make that, but it will be fantastic riding. there are 3 loops there ranging from about 15 miles to roughly 60 miles.

There are also club members that ride at a place called Livingston. I've never been b/c I'm not an expert. If you're an "A" rider and want some epic riding, get in touch with those guys.... they'll take you. It's an all day ride with a gas stop at a country restaurant.

Feel free to sign up for an account with the MTDR. Dues are only collected for club rides and events only (doesn't sound like you'll be here for any of those)... There are plenty of people riding somewhere every weekend, and most times somewhere during the week.

As for other places you can research:
    http://www.coalcreekohv.com/ 72,000 acres (take a gps! lol)
http://www.woolysoffroad.com/ - where I most often end up.
    http://www.wheelininthecountry.com/ - mainly rockcrawlers
http://www.cmrariders.com/Site/Welcome.html - $200/yr (free for our club ride)
http://natra.dirtrider.net/ $50/yr (free if you can find an MTDR member to take you). Ride some actual national enduro loops or explore. Some of the best single track there is (so I'm told).
