Id like to get my son on a husky but the autos were a lil pricey for what they are. Hes currently learning on a 02 kx60 wich is a great bike for the price i paid and pretty dang quick but like i said would like to get him a husky pretty soon if they have em.
true that. got the kawi for 200 less than the husky and 400 less than the ktm i was looking at (non of them new bikes). its better anyway hes learning to shift as he learns to ride so he dont have to figure it out later.
I'm currently rebuilding a 2001 KX65 for my son Logan... how has the shifting practice gone so far for you White Rocket? T
were up to 3rd gear now and he can pull the clutch in and stop it and take off most of the time where he wants(clutch lever is about the same as a full sized one it seems). its kind of a slow process with this being his first bike. hes only 7 and rite at 4ft maybe 45-50lbs wet so the bike is a lil much for him but hes catching on nicely....he had a wheelie that beat the hell out of anythign i ever did but the lil guy finally looped er out after about 45-50ft lol we started at just letting the clutch out and runnin it in 1st gear then we moved up to shifting from 1st to 2nd and this last week up to 3rd. its been about 1 1/2-2 months or so worth of riding when hes at my house after school. we have a big fairly flat piece of land he can go and not have to worry bout hitting anything. a lil longwinded there but to get to the point hes not jammin gears up and down yet but hes gettin there. i think the hardest thing with the kids is they cant feel the shifter and brake lever with the riding boots on.
huskyt, hows the build coming along, are you adding any aftermarket stuff or keeping it fairly stock?
I saw a photo of a Husky 65. Not sure when and if we will get them. Remember you get what you pay for. I knew of a guy who rode KX 125's and after 2-3 clutches, piston's etc... Switched to a Husky 125. Bingo problems gone!
i had seen that, they dont want to share them with north america lol....i may have to go into halls and see if i can special order one..... http://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/_vti_g5_ver.aspx?IdVer=196&rpstry=198_
