Anyone ride a 2014 YZ250F off road?

I haven't, but local Aussie girl Jemma Wilson runs one in the EWC.

After I dnfed a round of our race series I was watching a guy on his yzf as it seemed pretty usefull, When he pitted for fuel ect he stopped for a while to look the bike over as it was brand new plus he was knackered lol. Our quick conversation about the bike he commented the forks were way way to hard, other than that he was loving it.

Rumour mill is alive that yamaha are to release a wr version !!! Only time will tell on that front.

cos you'll be 9 grand lighter cos you'll want it immediately.

Apparently so good out of the box it's absolutely stupidly fast and easy to use.

My son rides a backward engine 2011 yz450 and loves it. I've ridden it and it feels lighter than it is and turns way better than you would expect. The suspension is really good right out of the crate especially if you're a fast rider. I put bark busters a skid plate, rad guards, Tubliss, AT81 tires and a 49T rear sprocket and he has done endurocross with it as well as hare scrambles and miles of gnarly woods riding. He throws his 450 around like a 125 but he is 6'8" and extremely fit... the engine tires me out (probably because I'm not skilled at riding 4 strokes) It starts really easy even when hot but you have to kick it slow/even and smooth, if you kick it fast like a 2 stroke it will wear you out. I've been curious about the lighter 250 because I like my son's 450 so much. I'd have to ride one to know it wasn't gutless on the bottom like all the other 250 4Ts I've ridden. I'm die hard a 2 stroke rider but if I had to have a 4 stroke I would go Yamaha for sure... probably another 450.

Have you been on a 2010 or newer YZ450 with the backward engine yet? Compared to the CRF450R Honda (my son's old bike) that I rode the YZ is twice as good in the woods.

A guy I race against just got a 2015 yz250f and raced it this past weekend. He likes it a lot. Says it turns much better than his 2012.

The YZs feel more open and tall guy friendly than the Honda. The YZ 450 turns way better than you would expect it to so one would think the 250 would be really good as long as you're ok with the smaller displacement.
