Is a 1/4 turn on the Ape MCCT about the same as 1 tooth / click on the OE ACCT?

The thread on the APE MCCT bolt is 14TPI, .071" per turn and .012" per flat. The notches on the ACCT are around 1mm/.040".
So if my foggy math is close this Saturday morning, I would say a quarter turn/.018" is less that 1/2 click.

Thanks, I set it last year when CC was new and ACCT was at 4 or 5 clicks. I felt like it needed half a click and that's what I was trying for without pulling the ape and putting the auto one back in for reference. A half click a year will get a lot of life out of the CC.

I started adjusting mine with the engine idling and a 5/8" wobblysocket/open end wrench. I found that turning it in until turning anymore doesn't change the sound is just right. If that makes sense?

    That makes perfect sense

    Hi Guys,

When I installed my APE recently with only 1400 miles on the 08 and 4 clicks on the ACT, I kept
rotating the engine with spark plug out and noticing the distance at chain "tension" it wanted to
push the MCCT away from the block with various plunger adjustments.
It seemed at about 2-3mm away from block at chain max
tension the MCCT would still contact the CC guide very gently when rotated to "slack" and
therefore when MCCT was pushed back in against the block for mounting the pressure on the
guide was pretty light at CC tension position. The engine is quiet.
I agree, I think light guide pressure will lend itself to long CC life.......and I don't rev much above 5 grand
in most situations so I'm hoping I'm not "whipping" the chain much.
