Athens Vt-1 Programmer Help

So I picked up a VT-1 programmer off ebay for my GET ECU since Athena doesn't have any more available. When I plug the programmer in it powers up and I can go into show lambda and it'll gives me current RPM, TPS, and engine temp. When I go into configure ECU it shows the error no link. I looked at the manual and all it says is connection issue. Has anyone ever had experience with the programmer?
