I have had great results with the EFM auto clutch. They are absolutely bullet proof. You will have down time as you need to send him your clutch and cover. Gary is great about getting it turned right around though. I will be sending him one in the next week or so for another friend.

It doesn't need one. TONS of low end and a super easy clutch pull.

I kinda agree...I really dont "need" it but....there is usually about 1-2 times a race that it comes in handy...usually in the offcamber tree root areas that are wet...plenty of them in KY...lol

I "NEED" a real clutch. I tend to stall sometimes going into corners and can bump start the bike easily. Can't bump start with an auto clutch.

Setup properly, an autoclutch will eliminate those types of stalls & pretty much all other types as well. However, at the end of the day it's still a personal preference thing........

How much does the EFM cost? Umm I don't need one because I never stall :D but it was fun to have a Rekluse Pro on my 07 Honda 450R. I would think with the WB165 and a auto clutch that should be the ultimate woods bike.

    EFM is about 600.00
With the way a 165 supposedly runs, may not need one, but I like them no matter what the bike. Different style of riding, let the clutch do the work and focus on throttle control, I love it!

Thanks. Do you happen to know the turn around and if they are hard to adjust?

I just got the last revloc from Motosportz. Took 1 ride with it. Not really my thing. If anyone's interested, pm me.

    John,

Give Gary a call at EFM. Pretty much a one man shop, so he can give you a better idea on turn around time. Great guy and goes the extra mile. Setup is a one time thing and very easy. Just a matter of using the shims provided to get the right initial gap, bolt together and forget for the life of your bottom end. His turn around is very fast. The key reason for using an auto clutch on the 165 is the left hand rear brake. Where I ride it makes a huge difference on all those mile long steep loose down hills. Stalling on the 165 isn't an issue as it will lug to nothing.

I'll give him a call on Monday, thanks. How does the clutch feel after the install? The only bike I've ever had an auto clutch (Rekluse Pro) on was a 07 450R Honda and it at least made it ridable in the woods. Walt I didn't even stall the 144 and covered my clutch less than I did on the GG300. I just think it's neat not to even thing about the clutch like a big xr50 LOL.

The clutch will have the same feel as the rekluse pro. I use a two finger clutch lever along with the left hand rear brake and it really works well for me.....but I am old, fat, and slow.

John, I am thinking you ride mostly MX, and maybe it is just my set up, but I have difficulty getting it to shift in the upper gears when running wide open. Anybody have any input?
Magic in the woods though, make my 125 almostlike a trials bike.
