time fer wraps. just missed a hand harpoon etc etc etc....so yeh. enuf with the tuff guy stuff. saw these Trackside barkies in the local CG store...figured...hmmmmm......so i made these fit and total cost was under 22$. also did it a lil diff this time. still pretty cave man but, i ground the end of the tube/grip. it came out cherry with a nice layering effect. and, i could control precisely how much of the tube went. i ground it to a hairsbreath thick then poked it out with my finger, gave it a 45* and deburred it. max lentgh left over with factory parts. clean it up a lil with some paper and boom...done! with some practice i could get good with it. the tube is pretty damn straight. grip end has a couple teensy wobbles in it...fix that later...or never. it looks shaggy but its not, that's towel fuzz.
with these fat bars, stil gota shorten the bar and chamfer the clamp base...and the clamp strap a lil too. during mock up dont forget to move your brake cable so it dont rub through... chop-chop...didnt have time to fully round it just broke edges and painted it and...i suck at freehand sht...drill moved, shiny new bolt is off center....idiot. paints still wet too! im OCD and impatient, ya think?
take your stock Cemoto guards and pop rivet them on ,if these get ripped off, i got bigger worries. i trimmed the tabs and junk off the backs so it's smoother, but, you could leave the tabs on if you go moto- just drill the rivet/undo screw, swap lever pivolt bolts, remove the wraps and install your grip end guards...braaap!... still some clean up to do...the hard part for me with these is the first mock up and the bending and the going back n forth to the vise and the...i dont like wraps! not too shabby for 22$! like said- still some clean up to do so....made a little sticker to hide the gouges and to entertain the branches i'll be bashin with these comin up-a real soon baaaroooop! before: after: Kelly saying it's about damn time with the wrap guards in 3.....2......braaap!
Nice work, looks the goods When are grip manufacturers going to cotton on to the fact that a LOT of bikes run barkbusters or bar ends and make the grips and throttle tubes minus the end cap by the way, i think you need a bigger knife!
we were in the dez once for easter. my buddy's 6 y/o kid walked over yelling "look what i found!" swinging that knife like a sword.. it's easily 12" long- now THAT'S a knife! 3 color lami handle too w/ brass hilt n cap. made in pakistan . couldn't find the sheath though...great for opening boxes, blister pack's and racoon management.
