Interesting to read that race - the Roof of Africa (its 41 years old) is now a 'Hard Enduro' - like Romaniacs. It was more of a traditional rallye. We need a race like that out west. 2 day enduro in baja like we used to have. Did you know the new manager of Husky, Scot Harden, won that race back in the day?! I'd love to do that one.
Looks like Barts hand is doing fine. Great versatile rider Hate to say it but was a big fan when he was even on a Yammie. But with me being a Polack and a Husky fan...........in like the butchers dog
Norm, that "smilie" looks like you.........except the cane. Now I will look likw this.........:cripple: (Again!) Joe
This from the Husqvarna Website: OBLUCKI FOURTH AT ROOF OF AFRICA 03-12-2008 After finishing his 2008 official engagements and participating in the EICMA Milan show, factory Husqvarna rider Bartosz Oblucki flew overseas to South Africa to race in the 40th Roof of Africa Enduro. The Roof of Africa is an Enduro race recognized as the mother of all extreme events and is run annually in Lesotho, South Africa. This year 300 riders started the event but only 89 made it to the finish line after 3 days racing to gain their place in the hall of fame. Despite this being his first time at the Roof of Africa event, Bartosz rode a spectacular race, riding an average of 150 km per day on his Husqvarna WR 250 going through the green valleys and rocky climbs of the South African countryside. By day three, it looked like Oblucki was to finish on the podium in second place but a navigation mistake cost him valuable time, resulting in a 4th place finish. It has really been a new experience for me said Oblucki at the end of the race Ive never seen anything like this before. Im very happy with my result, the bike was great for the three days and I enjoyed working with the team (Imperial Husqvarna SA managed by Husqvarna official importer for South Africa Italmoto SA). Now its time for me to go back home, relax for a few days with my family and then start my training for the 2009 season. http://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/_vti_g5_nwArt.aspx?idnews=857&IdCat=20&rpstry=157_
