One of our local race supporters is the vendor of Scorpion batteries, so in our quest to make our TXC310R a stronger starter, both hot and cold, I contacted them for ideas. They pointed me to their new Scorpion line of lightweight batteries. This model, SSTX14H-FP Scorpion Stinger LiFePo4 Extreme High Output Battery fit right into our 310R using nothing but the provided spacer blocks on the bottom to bring the battery up to seat height so the standard holder and notch hold it just like the stock battery. Weve now run it for a couple of months, including several weekend practice/trail rides where stopping and starting again happen every few miles; plus 3 GP and 1 XC races. The battery has been flawless so far.
