The Bear Creek Sportsmen have asked me to put on a riding school the Friday before the Quarry Run Dual Sport in Hancock, NY and I am excited for the opportunity. For those who don't know me, I am a 2 time ISDE silver medalist, one of them was on a Husky. I also finished 2nd in the AA class in the East Coast Enduro Series for 2009. For 2010 I am racing a 2010 TE250 And for those who don't know about the Quarry Run Dual Sport you are missing out. It is definitely the best 2 day ride on the east coast and probably the country, for more info on the dual sport you can visit www.bearcreeksportsmen.com I will be holding 2 classes on Friday August 6th, 2010 One starting at 8am and ending at 12pm. The second will start at 1pm and end at 5pm. There is a 15 rider limit per class. The school will be held about 5 minutes away from the Fireman's field (Main parking for the dual sport) on top of Coonhill Rd. The same site of the 2006 Word Enduro and all of the Bear Creek Sportsmen events. All skill levels are welcome, even kids on mini bikes with a clutch. All riders must be proficient with clutch use. I will be teaching techniques on balance, acceleration, braking, and cornering. As well as some more advanced techniques. The cost of the school is $50 per rider. For more information please contact me I will try to check this thread for questions, the best way is to contact me direct though. Thanks, Ben Smith (908)-319-5036 Dirtrider4life112@yahoo.com
I am there. Good terrain. Great teacher. Price is awsome and blows away and "stimulus package"! School is an hour and a half west of me so any guys coming from east or north east (New England) that are considering going, give me a shout and coordinate on pooling etc for the class. Have big box van so room is not an issue. Joe
Good "project". I'm talking about you, the "project". I want you to pay attention and try to learn something this time.
This time??? Never been to a riding school and hear good stuff about them....I figured I would try it. I have always been the type that you dress me up, send me to school, give me the books....I eat the books! Try to teach me to write...give me a pencil...I stick someone in the eye with it! Things just seem to go that way. No Ben....no fear of vioelnce at the school LOL!
wow, teach people to ride better for only $50.00.thats gotta be the deal of the year!any way you might want to come out to california for a couple classes?i will even provide you a bike.dan
$50 is a good deal for quality instruction. I've taken Shane Watts class and Johnny Barber's school and learned things from both classes that continue to help me today. Wise investment Joe. Now you need to report back and tell us what you learned.
I would be happy to have all you guys at my school. Don't worry, I won't be handing out pencil's, this is a riding school, not a writing school. I know that it is still over a month away but, To enroll, just send me your email address and I'll send you the form. Thanks, Ben
I have attached the registration form. All you need to do is fill it out and mail, or email it back to me to register. Thanks, Ben Smith
Just signed up for the morning class, any one else planning on going to this? Also does anyone know know how the camping is @ Fireman's field? is there cover (ie trees for shade) or is it really just a field?
There are still spots available in both the 8-12 and the 1-5 classes on August 6th. They are filling up quickly. If you are interested please contact me. Or just send in the registration form. Ben Smith dirtrider4life112@yahoo.com (908)319-5036
Just a reminder that I still have spots open in my riding school. Send me an email or call if interested, or just send in the registration form attached above. Ben Smith dirtrider4life112@yahoo.com (908)-319-5036
Hey Guys Just an update from Ben's class.....he was reallly awsome...showed us that we are way off on skill and there is a reason why he is professional and we are recreational....i took some spills in his class and they hurt waymore than the falls next day....but i am sure all the falls i took showed me what not to do while rding the way i do.... Thanks again Ben...i learnt a lot and the ride next day was much better for all the techniques that u showed us really helped..... People who missed this should really consider trying his classes next time if he offers some. Rudy
Hi Ben! I missed it... doh, always next year...lol Hope you are well, its been a while. brock (Alec -coreracing- UK)
