Ok, I spun out going up a switchback on the Hatfield-McCoy trails here in WV today. All ok except for the right rear turn signal and the reflector below the license plate. Question - Does anyone make a bendable turn signal set for the 610 such that I don't have to buy Hu$sky signals every time I drop the bike??? My KLR had these, several drops, never had to replace them... Thanks, Mike..

i have these on my bike and they have survived a few good crashes http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-1719.php
I have killed all types of bendable signals. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is better than flush mount. Ok, so you may not have this option to be "legal" in a sense but I have Never, and I mean "NEVER" been hassled, even riding around with the LAW AKA CHP. He even commented on how slick it looked. I don't have a shot of the rear, but these are the fronts. Rears are a little different but the same.
Western Power Sports 2 or 3 wire. http://www.wps-inc.com/wps/WICATALO...325 &SISID=A515&PRVPAGE=570&PAGEGO=Page# Page numbers change often, search for WPS - Marker lights. Part number 60-1378 or 60-1379. I use 3 wire version front and rear for common spares, and wire the front so the small (about 5-8Watts) element is always on for visibility. Inexpensive and very flexible.
The stock flasher works with those? Some people say they have to modify it (resistor?) with certain products.
I completely agree and somewhat disagree with Palmer I've torn off all sorts of flush ones, I finally got so pissed I decided to 'fix' it once and for all with a new tail and flush mount LED's from HDB. I can't say enough good about the HDB's they are really nice, and for $50 priced really reasonably: However, I have been hassled by the man a lot more since putting them on. In Nevada, the guy at DMV refused to register my bike saying it was 'obvious' that I just slapped some signals on a dirt bike. Bear in mind that my bike had a CA title and CA plate. Drove 30 miles to a different DMV and had no problem once I showed that guy the emission sticker. When I moved to WA my first day ride I got pulled over by a total asshat cop. "Is there any reason you are riding a dirt bike with absolutely no turn signals on a city street?" "um it has four, and I pointed them out" He then proceeded to look for a reason to ticket me 'ha! Your license is expired is that why you pulled off the year sticker!? "um, in NV that one sticker is all you get, notice in small print it says "2011"on it? "Well... why were you standing" um, to stretch my legs and get a better view? Is that illegal in WA sir? then he made me show him the signals did in fact work. To be fair I think standing is what got his attention, the signals just gave him a excuse. Oh, and BTW standing IS illegal in WA and the signals have to be 9" apart... which is why I registered it in Nevada
On my 610, I was breaking my rear signals all the time, never the front. I finally put some mini stalks on the rear. They bend and so far have not broken yet. On my other bike which I mainly ride just off road. I put on flush mounts. They are the way to go, but they are not legal
Falling down, I've done that more than once. Same for me. My solution, cheapie flush mount signals mounted on flexible plastic - almost any plastic will do as long as it will bend ok. I started with a piece of window blind then actually bought some plastic from a store more suitable.
Nice job Coffee, however, I think it's illegal to run the bike with tape over your license plate. (Unless you were just taking photos after a bank job and forgot it was still there.)
That is a great job. i had something similar on my old DRZ and it worked fantastic. Coffee, what year is your rear fender off of? I like the white with the integrated license plate holder. My 06 yellow is that way but I didn't know they came in white. thanks john
My bike is a 2006 TE250, which was originally blue/yellow. But had the plastics swapped to red/white plastics from a 2006 TC prior to even picking it up. Now that I think of it, a TC does not have a license plate so I'm not sure what that is off of. But I'm sure Dan (Motoxotica) would know.
Well that makes sense. Probably not much luck fitting that to my 610. Might have to take a look though, thanks for the info. john
+1++ These have served me well. Pretty inexpensive too. I also moved the location and that helped a bunch.
Yeah, was hoping not to have to replace the taillight and everything as well. I actually kind of like the molded in version on the 06. Thanks
Here's my solution - LED blinkers attached to 1/8" aluminum plate: The mud flap has enough flex in it to help prevent breakage. One thing I'd do different is extend the aluminum out past the edge of the blinker to give them more protection.
