You didn't tell us what carb you're running.

Check out the jetting database for some good starting points.

I picked up a 2002 last summer. After a couple of months of riding it with the Mikuni, I found by far the best settings were 1/2 turn richer on the Lectron as delivered:D

My 02 was a bear to get to idle low or idle at all. I couldn't seem to lean it out and the bike ate up spark plugs. I ended up installing an airstriker and changing the reeds to boyenson reeds in a Honda reed block. Changed the bike completely. Sorry I can't help with your tmx issues.

I had the same bike - watch for the slide wearing out and sucking air - I put the Keihin on after that - ran much better.

    I don't know

I tried to get the Mikuni to work on my 04 WR. When I put the PWK with a JD kit and RB Designs mods on I never looked back.:)
I'm surprised you haven't been referred to the Lectron conversion yet though.

Stock carb seems to be a bad joke and robs you of enjoying your bike.. get a lectron and don't look back (as no one will be able to catch you :) )

PWK works great on my bike. People seem happy with the Lectron, but I see no reason to switch.

Just to provide something besides the constant barrage of "get a lectron" posts. PWK is good enough for every pro rider that I know of, so it works for me.

A PWK IS a good carb but will never match the idle power or fuel mileage of the Lectron from my experience.

That and by the time I got mine JD jetted and the RB Designs mods done the PWK cost quite a bit more.

A Lectron carb is $355. A PWK with the complete JD jetting kit straight from Motosportz Mike is $245. :excuseme:

When I got mine it was before the carbs were available with JD kits at such a good price from Mike. In addition the RB Design mods were around 200$ and who knows how much I spent on needles before I got the JD kit.
