GoPro seems to be the best value so far, but I want WiFi, and 1080 at a true 60 fps, good results in low light, large image processor, etc. There are lots of other cameras on the market, some well known names like Garmin, others not so well known. Some can be bought for really cheap, less than 75 bucks on E-bay and do a decent job of capturing video. Some have better editing apps than other. All these cameras can be found in in-depth reviews on-line, and you can get a sense of exactly what they will do or won't do from these reviews.

Pmsl try replay and you tube comparisons, get the prime if you want to shove go pro to last century.
The go pro are good but fantastic at advertising.

Dirt dame replay prime is wifi enabled does 1080p at 60fps 720 at 120fps if you want and streams playback to your smart phone .... Imo good value too.

I cant see why a refurb unit isnt as good as a new one if it was done by the factory, nows the time to scope out ebay craigslist etc unwanted gifts and upgrades etc.

If that floats ya boat go for it. Personally would go replay just for low profile.
Check out reviews on you tube many side to side comparisons.

That sounds like the gopro was in just a skeleton case. The standard, open back door on the gopro doesn't give you that incredible wind noise. I have a hero 3 and it takes great riding videos and the sound is awesome. I'm not computer savy so I don't bother trying to upload my videos. There downloaded on my computer.

I shot this 2 days ago. Shot 1080P 60fps, dumped into GoPro Studio (their free editor) using Protune. I have done some shooting with the skeleton and works well too. Happy with the audio overall as it matches the quality of the video at least on my desktop. Uploaded to YouTube though video takes a hit. Fast motion requires a high enough bitrate so detail isn't a blur of pixilation but unless you pay for higher bitrate streaming I guess we have to deal with the mush on the screen. I wouldn't break from a GoPro now. They have a good codec and GP Studio works well though you can bring the AVI/MOV files into most editors. My only real complaint is the amount of compression or just lack of dynamic range. Being careful about lighting is really important but POV shooting means turn it on and ride into the sunset. White balance, saturation and exposure each suffer in harsh lighting, even across one frame, but unless you can work wonders in After Effects it's got to suffice.

If you have a USB input you may be able to play the files by just switching your video source and selecting the file on your tv.
