Would it be best to buy a 200 swap engines and resell 200 as a 125 or buy all the parts to convert the 125 to a 200 or try to find an engine....

Or put white plastic on the ktm 200 with Husqvarna graphics. Same thing right? Lol

Buy a Ktm 200 2004 and up and swap the engine then sell the chassis. Cheapest option

Why not just buy a KTM200 instead of the 125?

I get what you want to do, I think about it too.... I love my TE125, but it's hard for me me to ride really fast, when it gets really tight and technical. I'm faster on my TE250, but I hate the way it feels now.... big and bulky compared to the TE125, but I love the Estart! My right knee is cooked and I have a hard time kicking the TE250. No problem with the TE125 though. I'd rather have the button, than an auto clutch at this point. I think a TE200 with Estart, would be the perfect bike for me.

I've been watching for 200 engines, but only found some '00 and '01's. Not even a lot of used 200's for sale. I have all the parts to do a bore and stroke 150 conversion, on my TE125. I got them from someone doing a 200 conversion, on a new '14 150XC. Since KTM doesn't build a 200 with linkage, this is a cult bike build. I still have this little thing in the back of my mind, on doing the 200 swap and I have gotten prices on a new '16 200XC-W. I don't know if he'll come through, but I have a guy who wants a 125EXC(XC-W). They aren't available in the US and he was trying to get one shipped from the UK. If that worked out, selling him the KTM with the 125 swapped in, I might consider it.

The new KTM/Husky 125/150 engine is holding me back a bit.... The cases are designed for an Estart, so what does the future hold? It also has the adjustable PV system of the 250/300 engine. This is a nice feature on my 250. Word at the KTM demo rides, is that the 200 goes away after this year. Will there be a new 200, or some other displacement? A year and a half until the potential for a new enduro Husky bigger than 125, but smaller than a 250. Also, the fact of no '16 TC150, but a '16 KTM 150SX makes me wonder if Husky will get a bigger displacement small bore at all?

Life is short and at 61, I better enjoy it! Look for my TE200 soon!

Norm, you nailed it. We did a nice group ride at a private track Saturday, gobs of 125/144/165 huskys and I had my CR250. Bunch of other bikes too, 200 ktm 450, 350 etc. I rode my 250, loved it on the hills. Rode the 165 and was stunned how much EZer it was to ride, until I got to the silty hill climbs. Ones I walked right up on the 250 took 2 tries. Was interesting. After the 165 i did not want to ride my 250 but also did not relish the idea of trying to get it up the hills. Everything is a trade off.

Now that my 300 is gone,,, to my brother....

I am seriously condering as a 2nd bike a 16 TC125 converted into a TE200.... I think the idea of buying a 04 and up 200 and swapping everything from one to another and other stuff back to old bike and sell as a ktm 125 or part out chassis is the way to go....

Just need to totally rebuild the old motor, 18" wheel and other enduro crap....boom

Thanks Rob! 200 build is all OEM parts and very well documented, but it would be nice to touch base with Brad.

    Ron,
The new 125/150 engine is completely different, from the cases up, so I really doubt an old 125/150/200 will swap into the '16 TC125.

150 big bore kit announced at Dealer Meeting. I doubt Athena would do a bigger one. I'm going to buy a Factory big bore kit and send it to Walt, so he can analyze it's potential for a 165 bb.

    I love the new styling....
