big bore kit for 2010 tc 250

hi any body know if husky or any aftermarket companys are able to supply big bore kits for the new type tc engine,just about to buy a tc but after riding a demo bike i find its way down on hp,especially for a big guy like me.i really like the bike,the way it handles and how easy it is to ride,but the hp thing is not good.

hi ,the demo bike i rode had maybe 20 hrs and the devil exhaust system fitted,and was well down on hp right thru the range,compared to my old 07 ktm 250f,man i really like this bike but if someone cant come up with a way of extracting more power,im not sure i will buy.

sounds like you need a 450? I cant even begin to think how hard your riding it if the 250 is not enough power? I let my buddy ride mine and he thought mine had tons more power everywhere compared to his 2009 KTM 250F? and the handling of the KTM was scary compared to how planted my husky is.

probably do need a 450,and no im no wanna be superatar,in fact im a 50plus vet racer,who has tried every brand and cc over the past 35 years,granted the husky handles sweet compared to the ktm,but the ktm can be sorted easy,i think there must something bad wrong with your buddys ktm,it is a well known fact that the husky is prob 2 to 3 hp down on the rest of the 250fs,theres no disputing that fact,im more interested in how i can bring on par with the other 250fs????

im not sure if anything was wrong with the KTM,it was setup by the enduro champ of our series who also happens to be a KTM rep,anyway i think the problem with alot of riders trying out husky for the first time is they read the magazine articles bagging on the bikes about top end etc. in truth they are all very very close and any bike from any manufacturer will give almost all riders more than they can handle,you should try to time your laps on the KTM and then try the same for the husky and see how close they are?top end power doesnt equate faster in all situations? just thinking out loud?

Another thought.... as you said, the Husky handles better and has better suspension. That will make a bike feel slower compared to a bike that you are hanging onto...if you are pushing them both just as hard.

Check your lap times as said. Then you will have a clear-cut answer.

where where?????ok guys for trail and woods riding the husky is probably fine,i only ride mx,i find tree dodging and potholeing totally boring,tried both bikes back to back,3 secs a lap quicker on the bone std 07 ktm,plus it hauls my big frame out of the gate 10 places further up the feild on three occasions,now im not knockin the husky,it is absolutely lovely to ride,hence the want to buy one,but when you come to a steep hill or a soft spot on a sandy track,it all but stops,i dont take much notice of mag tests,did all my own testing,and thanks again to my local husky dealer TAS PERFORMANCE,for loaning me the bike on two differant occasions,once again i am not putting the bike down,merely askin if there was anyway of increasing the hp,

I am not being a wise arse,,,ya gotta buy what works for you,,,,if you are turning 3 SECONDS!! a lap faster on the Kato,,,,,,,shoot 3 secs is a lifetime. Go Kato.(no?)

Seems like you answered your own question...get the stock KTM...just think how much faster (the seconds start to add up) you'll be when you massage a stock bike!

PS there is alot of R&D going on here as we speak up in the Ty Davis "lab"
we just saw the TC250 cut through a fairly strong pro pack from dead last to P2 and finish P3 in the tecate hare scrambles.
That was the first time Nick Burson had even ridden the 250. It was the Zip-Ty AMA endurocross set up TC250 that was used, Jardine header chamber pipe and rumor (from High level source) says cam and head work as well. Its just the start of the year for production model racing so wait a bit for the ZipTy's and Pro-Circuits of the world to work some magic into the TC250. After all it is a just an internal combustion piston engine in a nice chassis,,,,all the usual hop up tricks do apply. PPS The GNCC 450 of Kearny has a pro circuit worked motor

Husqvarna and all of us are really lucky to have ZipTy in the mix!

It's just amazing to me that a difference of only 3 hp can feel so drastically slow compared to the other 250fs. Although that IS approximately 10% of the total power.

All I can say is the new YZF 250 must be way more powerfull than the 07 version. My son's 2010 TC250 will run circles around a friends YZF250.

"It feels slow but it is pulling just the same. Then you seem to have longer to play with each gear, as the Husky revs out to a solid top-end pull and rarely hits a rev-limiter because there is a subsequent power sign-off. Our pro riders wanted it to pull more on top, and we have so far unsuccessfully tried some jetting to get it to rev harder, but these were minor sticking points. We're pretty sure the power is off a little compared to the competition, and more so on tight tracks with technical jumps and turns than fast ones. Not helping is the throttle response of the FI bikes in the class, changing the way we can ride 250Fs, but this Husky isn't all that far off."

"And we're not quite sure that the TC is slow, because everyone who rode it, rode it fast and looked good at the same time. For sure it is lacking all-out power and snap if you have pro speed, but for the real world Husky has a bike that is performing well (save for that starting) and getting the job done."

Not that mags know all, but this seems to be a fair review.
