Buddy had this 2005 610 sm for the summer and rod bearing went out and did some damage..dealer wants 3800$ to fix motor, i cant find a used motor anywhere.

Any ideas? part it out? get parts from dealer?
needs rod, bearings, piston, crank, and then some...

seems hard to find used parts for these things.
    any help much appreciated!
    thanks

If it has aftermarket exhaust, and he decides to part, I'd be interested.

We can rebuild it and mod the crank so that doesn't happen again. Call us and get a quote.

    $3800 sounds a bit much.

Should be able to do a LOT better.

How did this happened btw? Haven't heard many problems like this in 610s motors..

My 630, with about 20.000kms on the clock started a ticking noise coming from the lower reaches and has been diagnosed with a duff con rod bearing. RepairĀ“s going to be expensive.

If you are going to part it out, let me know, i'm interested in the cdi.
