Noticed since I put my new gnarly n pc2 on that header part of pipe is a deep gold/bluing colour. Does this indicate its runnin a little lean/hot(down low id imagine)? Seems to feel hotter(pipe/engine) when riding slow tight stuff than used too but I hav been riding the 165 for the previous year more or less so used to that also. Seems to spit a little coolant when real slow goin so it's gettin hot-maybe 100ml at most so it's just below fins when checked cold post ride. Lectron pj set at 5/8-3/4 from seated(was 1/2 turn so richened a little). Forget what rods at around 49.5-50mm I think so was thinkin of goin half turn richer n if too much lean off 1/4 turn? Still spooges a bit out of cylinder/Pv cover/pipe when playing around but when ridden hard bugger all spooge

go rich until it four strokes then go lean until four stroking goes away. some golding is normal but why not know your jetting is right?

If the plug looks good I cant see there is a problem.
I have wondered for a long time how the likes of Jonny Walker ect manage to turn there pipes so blue and just came to the conclusion its because they ride so hard and fast, So stop worrying and just tell people its because your up there with the best

dont worry johnny i tell everyone & anyone who will listen that im up there with the best(myself included)!:D plugs looks rich if anything as i richened up the PJ so its a dry(ish depending on how its been ridden) black colour generally unless doin a proper chop. yeah it doesnt look like the mxers pipes that are totally blue most the way round the header, not even as bad as JW in picture above. just a goldy header with a touch of blue/purple. running lectron. not sure i know what 4 stroking means justintendo:o but i might richen it half a turn & if too much ill just go back a 1/4 leaner. its nice & snappy off idle which is how i like it(wheelies like a demon) but just thought the bit of coolant being spat out & extra heat from engine when riding 1st gear snot or cuttin in trails may be slightly lean related?

ps- PC plat 2 pipe i had never blued at all but was running mikuni which was way rich then so probably why & what got me thinking

you need to look up the term "four stroking" its a term for when a 2 stroke runs rich it begins to fire every other time its supposed to instead of every time. its a key tool for tuning. try to avoid twist back and forth back and forth lean/rich lean/rich. the best, safe place for a two stroke to operate is right before its rich enough to four stroke, then you know its "rich enough". a tad leaner for crispness then thats it.

turn your powerjet richer quarter turn at a time, you will find the "four stroking"....then back it off....done.
i never look at the plug, only to change it once a year or so out of sympathy

Hows the weather over there, a dryer day can lean out your bike a little.
Lectrons tend to be forgiving in this department so just ruchen her up till she runs like crap bogs everywhere and is just rubbish then sneak up on leaning her till shes crisp n dry.
Personally i think richen her up half turn n leave it but im not there to hear the thing.

You dont want to seize another 165 dude!

Good luck. As long as the plane is properly stocked with adult beverages, it should make up for the extra wait.
